TESL Coverage: Teaser Article

After nearly a year of absence, WASD is set to return to the national Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) scene with its signature Tarlac Esports League.

The date, slated to be in the first week of May 2017, will feature four of the Philippines’ best CS:GO teams in a high-stakes tournament for another “six-digit prize pool.”

Negotiations between the company and its longtime public partner, the city government of Tarlac, are “now ongoing” and as a result, “the location cannot be disclosed yet,” according to sources close to the parties involved.

TESL is the only premier CS:GO event in the Philippines that is officially under a public-private partnership. 52 teams have joined from all over the Philippines last year, and “greater numbers of teams, particularly from Visayas and Mindanao, are expected,” according to Emmanuel “Dracs” Deang, chief operating officer for WASD.

Senator Paolo Benigno “Bam” Aquino IV graced the event with his presence last April 2017.
Mineski CS:GO won the 2017 edition of TESL, with now-defunct Gaon Gaming from Cebu taking second place.
