Pacific.Macta to Semifinals, TNC Eliminated in Premier International FPS Tilt
Pacific.Macta is now assured of a fourth-place finish in the CrossFire Global Invitational, considered to be the game's premier international summer tournament.
With Pacific.Macta already assured of a place in the playoffs since yesterday, they only needed to beat Chinese side TGF in order to gain first seed and avoid the Chinese in their semifinal matchup. However, after losing 7-10 to the Chinese squad and gaining second seed as a result, they will now face local powerhouse SV in a best-of-three series.
Meanwhile, TNC got eliminated from the tourney after losing three of their matches, including a 1-10 blowout against SV on Ankara.
The other semifinal team is Vietnam's BOSS.CFVN, which is considered to be one of the strongest non-Chinese CF teams in the world today due to their ability to win against China's best sides.
Whoever wins CFGI will bring home a hefty purse of $100,000 (~P5 million), while the second placer will bring home $50,000 (~P2.5 million). In addition, third and fourth placers will get $25,000 (~P1.25 million) each.
To round up, Christian "REVENGE" Amores and Mark Kervin "MKC" Chan will represent the Philippines in the All-Star match.
This is now Pacific.Macta's second CFGI semifinal appearance after achieving the same feat back in 2016.
Pacific.Macta's match will be aired tomorrow at 4:00 p.m. (Philippine Standard Time) here on this channel.
